On a budget or after a splashback to match your laminate benchtop?
Laminate splashbacks were popular some years ago before glass splashbacks became cost effective and easily sourced. The laminate, being only up to 1mm thick, needs to be laminated to a backboard first before installation. The advantage of laminate splashbacks is that it could exactly match a laminate benchtop and create a flow-through effect for the space between base and upper cabinets. It can also be easily cleaned and has no grout lines.
Laminate is also a much cheaper alternative to glass for budget kitchens. This type of splashback can also be installed by the home handy person or kitchen installer.
